Good news of the day: I may move to the City!
Bad news of the day: I still did not get the job....
While the first news is really exciting (comparable to Prada sales), the other one causes me headaches, sleepless nights and will be highly responsible for my botox bill next month.
I do have what it takes, am smart, nice, communicative, great education, good recommendations, all relevant experience, BUT I am not from the City just from a city. A city in a different time zone, with less rain and more snow. Everyone knows, long distance relationships are difficult, need much more effort, sacrifices and time than the regular ones, but long distance recruitment is a lot worse. Even today, with all the communication possibilities, video conferences, low cost flights is it almost impossible to convince the City people that the city people have the same quality, and are just a different brand. Different but compatible, the match is there.
So is it possible to match city with the City in the same way as you match your Burberry coat with the LBD from Prada?
